Experienced Ultrasonic Testing Specialists

At Bravura Inspections, we offer cutting-edge Ultrasonic Testing (UT) services, a highly sensitive and accurate method for detecting subsurface flaws and irregularities in various materials. Our experienced technicians utilize advanced ultrasonic techniques to provide precise and reliable inspections, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality across multiple industries. Whether for castings, forgings, welds, or thickness gauging, Bravura Inspections delivers unparalleled expertise and results.

What is Ultrasonic Testing?

Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is a non-destructive testing method that uses high-frequency sound energy to conduct examinations and make measurements. This technique is ideal for detecting subsurface flaws and irregularities in materials, as well as for thickness gauging when only one side of the surface is accessible.

How Does Ultrasonic Testing Work?

Ultrasonic Testing involves manually scanning the test item with high-frequency sound waves. These sound waves travel through the material and reflect off the opposite surface or any flaws present. The returning reflected pulses are converted back into electrical energy and displayed as signals on a screen. The position and size of these signals correspond to the location and size of the flaw or the thickness of the part.

Benefits of Ultrasonic Testing

Highly Sensitive Detection

UT is highly sensitive and capable of detecting both linear and non-linear flaws, making it suitable for a wide range of components of various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses.

Three-Dimensional Interpretations

Ultrasonic Testing permits three-dimensional interpretations, providing a comprehensive view of the internal structure of the material being tested.

Versatility

UT can be applied to any material that transmits mechanical vibrations, including steel, other metals, and alloys. It is a versatile non-destructive testing method suitable for numerous applications.

Accuracy

One of the key benefits of Ultrasonic Testing is its accuracy in determining the depth of internal defects or the thickness of materials. This precision ensures reliable results for critical inspections.
